How to Increase Your Luck and Good Fortune

luck and good fortune

Being lucky has a lot to do with your own belief. If you believe you’re lucky, there’s a very good chance that your luck will improve. If you believe you’re unlucky, there’s a good chance that will come true instead. It’s very similar to the question of whether a glass is half full or half empty.

But believing that you’re lucky isn’t the only thing you can do to increase your luck and good fortune.

Notice chances

luck and good fortuneSo often, we go through the world not really noticing things.

Partly because a lot of the things around us are familiar – we tend to get stuck in the same routine and do much the same thing, day in, day out.

So, even when luck and fortune are staring us in the face, we’ll often miss the signals.

Challenge yourself to concentrate more on the things around you. Even playing a game with your mind to see whether you can spot three new things in your current surroundings can help. My guess is that you can do that. Probably more than once.

When you’ve proved that to yourself, the next challenge is to spot something that will help you be luckier.

Maybe a four leaf clover. Maybe some loose change in the street. Maybe a traffic signal turning green for you. Maybe something bigger.

Once you start tuning your mind to lucky chances, more luck will follow. It’s one of the rules of the law of attraction – what you focus on, you get more of.

Listen to your intuition

So much of what we do is controlled by our subconscious mind. Intuition is when you just get a gut reaction that something is right or not. And often it’s spot on.

Your intuition can help your mind be open to taking new opportunities because they feel right. And it should also be able to steer you away from some of the “opportunities” that are only lucky for the person promoting them, not for anyone who takes part, So if something seems too good to be true, follow your intuitive thoughts and avoid it.

Expect good fortune

Our expectations are often fulfilled. Whether that’s in our contacts with other people – if we expect them to be grumpy, our attitude will reflect that. But if we expect them to be happy and generous, there’s a good chance that will happen instead. With the same person, just depending on what we expect.

Expecting luck and good fortune is no different.

You probably know some people who are luckier than average. That’s almost certainly because they’re expecting to be lucky.

Do the same!

Look for the upside on everything and you’ll almost always find it. Which will help you attract more luck into your life.

Be grateful

Gratitude affects our outlook and also affects how lucky we are.

Miserable people attract miserable things – look around you at the people you know and you’ll see that’s true.

Being grateful affects us – positively.

Keeping a gratitude journal where you write down three things each day that you’re grateful for is an excellent start. Doing this last thing at night puts you in a positive mood for sleep and rest.

And being grateful more often increases your positivity and the chance of more good fortune being attracted to you.

Increase your karma

Helping other people will increase your karma score.

It’s not always the big things that count here either – often it’s small things that count for a lot. Partly because you’ve actually noticed that they would be good if they happened – and the people you’re doing them for will notice that.

So don’t keep things to yourself – help others and you’ll be rewarded.

This has been known since at least the time the Bible was written – tithing is one of the ways that it’s mentioned but there are other references that will help your karma, whether or not you’re religious.

Tilt the odds towards you

This can be as simple as just doing stuff. Rather than doing nothing.

If you don’t try anything new, you’ll almost certainly get more of whatever is happening to you at the moment.

Trying new things helps you get more opportunities to be lucky.

Will you “win” every time – probably not. If you try 1 new thing and don’t succeed that’s not giving you many chances to improve your luck. But if you try one new thing to make you luckier each day for a month, I can guarantee that you’ll have a lot more luck flowing into your life.
