Most of us started the New Year off determined to achieve New Year’s resolutions. We started January with a bang, super enthusiastic, and determined to make this year more successful than ever. Unfortunately, by late March to early April we have fizzled out, achieving only a few milestones along the way.
But, what if we had the right goals partner to support us along the way. A great amount of energy is created when you have someone in your corner encouraging you to be great. “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much”, quoted by Helen Keller.
A goals partner should be someone that you have mutual respect for, that you communicate well with, someone that has time available for you, someone who is willing to compromise when necessary, someone who shares some of you core values, and most importantly someone you can have fun with. This person can be your husband, wife, fiancé, boyfriend, girlfriend, wannabe boyfriend, wannabe girlfriend. Or a goals partner can also be any person whom you have a close relationship with (family member, mother, father, sister, brother, grandparent, cousin, best friend, mentor, pastor, ministry leader, or someone from a support group.
#5 Reason you need a goals partner:
- You need someone to give you honest feedback as you pursue your goals. Don’t live in la-la land, it’s nice to have someone you can trust that will give you a nice little reality check
#4 Reason you need a goals partner:
- They can coach you in terms of helping you to keep a commitment and let you know when you are not really working towards your goals and not accomplishing the task you set out to accomplish.

- It’s a lot easier to get things done and a whole lot more fun. When you have more than one person brainstorming ideas a more sophisticated way of thinking comes about. A goals partner can also make the journey more fun and there’s someone to laugh hysterically with.
#2 Reason you need a goals partner:
- You now have DOUBLE. Double the experience, double the knowledge, and double the encouragement. They can help to create a more comprehensive and complete solution to achieving your goals.
The Top #1 Reason you need a goals partner:
- You are more likely to actually achieve your goals. A great amount of passion and energy is generated when you are working with the right goals partner that will encourage you to take a common goal, achieve it in a wildly successful manner, and make you great in the process.

Here are some key steps for achieving your goals?
- Pick the right goals partner: A great positive force emanates when two people are sharing love, support, kindness, their experiences, their knowledge, and encouragement.
- Pick the right goals: Life is more fulfilling when you pick goals that you are passionate about and connected to your life’s purpose.
- Visualize your goals: One thing true in life – in order for something to be physically created on earth, someone had to create it in his or her mind first. Visualization is a powerful method of attracting things that you desire to come into your life.
- Develop your talents and skills: You possess talents that are special and unique and you can further develop them by observing others more skilled than you, taking classes, practicing, and being committed to success.
- Identify steps that are needed to make your dreams a reality: Create a detailed task list that answers who you need to connect with, what things need to be done, when you need to do certain steps, where can you find resources, and why you need to perform each task.
“To accomplish great things we must first dream, then visualize, then plan…believe…act!”
